POST ARCHIVE FACTION (PAF) and On have introduced Current Form 4.0, the fourth installment in their collaborative series following October 2025’s. Built around the Cloudboom Volt PAF, the performance running shoe filters On’s engineering priorities through PAF’s structural design language.

The Cloudboom Volt PAF’s upper is the most visually distinctive element of the build. An intricate overlay design sits across the surface and works in tandem with an integrated wrap construction, a pairing the press release describes as mirroring the moment a moth breaks through its cocoon. The reference is not incidental: the collection’s central concept frames running as an act of metamorphosis, drawing a line between the moth’s transition from cocooned stillness to flight and the physical and psychological transformation implicit in the act of running. The overlay geometry gives the upper a layered, almost sculptural quality that reads closer to PAF’s ready-to-wear work than conventional performance footwear.

Beneath the upper, the midsole specification is On’s helion compound, which the brand positions for both cushioning and energy return. The choice of helion rather than a softer, more neutral foam points toward a shoe built for active running use rather than lifestyle wear, keeping the Cloudboom Volt PAF functionally legible as a performance silhouette even as its aesthetic pushes well outside the category’s visual norms. The part-woven, part-mesh material selection on the upper addresses breathability without abandoning the structured overlay effect, a construction balance that requires more precise pattern engineering than a standard single-material mesh build.

The two colorways, White / Gale and Ember / Pebble, both work within a muted, natural palette that reinforces the collection’s organic reference points without leaning into the kind of high-contrast colorblocking common in performance running releases.

The accompanying apparel lineup is built entirely around running functionality and reimagined through PAF’s design perspective. The Zero Jacket leads the outerwear offering, joined by the Zero Singlet, Zero 2-in-1 Shorts, and Running-T across the core performance pieces. The Run Belt, Zero Cap, and Run Socks round out the accessories. The campaign film, directed by Theodor Guelat, and accompanying photography by Zachary Handley frame the collection under the directive to Chase Stillness, extending the metamorphosis concept into the visual identity of the drop.
