YEARLY PLAN Spring/Summer 2027 Collection: Finding Life's Abundance in a Humble Abode
When the mind finds peace and the spirit finds clarity, the present moment becomes “the best of times”—the core message of this season’s collection.
by Terry Chen · HypebeastFor its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, YEARLY PLAN takes poet Liu Yuxi’s “Humble Abode” as its spiritual starting point, turning inward to a grounded yet abundant spiritual landscape to seek peace, ease, and enduring human connections in the everyday. The brand recently presented its Spring/Summer 2027 runway show at its Shanghai showroom. Staying true to YEARLY PLAN’s restrained, organic aesthetic, the set design incorporated handmade Sichuan bamboo-pulp paper and local bamboo. Inspired by the intimate concept of a “room,” the space evoked the warm, rustic ambiance of a real home.
This season continues the brand’s ongoing exploration of Sichuan’s regional culture, drawing inspiration from the local landscape, collective memories, and traditional craftsmanship. Signature brand tones like chili red, Shu blue, and bamboo green are juxtaposed with natural hues of lime green, ochre brown, and sky blue to create a seasonal palette deeply rooted in the earth and everyday life. Classic staples—the Sichuan T-shirt, Sichuan Vest, Little Boy Jacket, and Sichuan Sandals—channel the region’s relaxed, effortless approach to dressing, reimagined for contemporary life through modern tailoring.
Simultaneously, YEARLY PLAN deepens its exploration of the relationship between materiality and nature. The collection incorporates local textiles such as Sichuan pongee silk, Ngawa yak down, ramie, and bamboo-derived fibers, honoring the brand’s commitment to long-termism through botanical dyes, eco-friendly washes, and recycled fabrics. The Family Bag line also welcomes new additions this season, including the Fold Bag, Tofu Bag, and Messenger Bag; their soft textures and utilitarian designs evoke the comfort, companionship, and belonging of “home.”
Rooted in the earth and returning to the essence of life, YEARLY PLAN seeks to document the dialogue between local culture and contemporary living through its garments. A “humble abode” may be simple, but it is enough to hold a boundless inner world; when the mind is at peace, the here and now truly becomes our “best of times.”
