MB&F has unveiled the SP One Pavée, a diamond‑set sequel of its 38mm Special Project One which was first unveiled last year. Designed as the brand answer to classic, elegant dress watches, the original silhouette merged an organic, pebble-like shape with the brand’s signature three-dimensional kinetic architecture. This new iteration expands on this “classical MB&F” ethos by reinterpreting the model in 18K white gold, replacing the former black accents with a dark blue PVD-inclined dial while adding a subtle high-jewelry execution.
The defining characteristic of the SP One Pavée is its floating, gravity-defying movement suspended within an interior “amphitheatre”. A trinity of core mechanical elements spanning the single mainspring barrel, the balance wheel oscillating at 18,000 vph at 2 o’clock, and the tilted hour-and-minute dial driven by conical gearing at 6 o’clock. These three components share identical circumferences and sit beneath a bezel-free, double-domed sapphire crystal shell. The architecture conceals almost all bridges, screws, and gear trains underneath, allowing maximum light to pass through the white gold case and illuminate the floating mechanical performance.
Enhancing the watch’s sculptural curves without disrupting its aesthetic balance, the SP One Pavée incorporates 255 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 1.608 carats. Rather than covering the entire watch, the gem-setting precisely lines the pebble case with 165 diamonds, the rhodium-plated amphitheatre flange with 55 diamonds, the crown with 14 diamonds and the 18K white gold pin buckle with 21 diamonds.
Measuring 38mm in diameter, 12mm in height and 41.9mm lug-to-lug, the watch features detached lugs rising from the lower case to preserve its smooth, tactile feel. Powered by an in-house hand-wound movement, the timepiece delivers a 72-hour power reserve. Limited in production and as part of MB&F’s Special Projects collection, the SP One Pavée represents a new chapter for the brand — an exploration of classical elegance interpreted through its unconventional lens.
