NYC-based label Aimé Leon Dore has made its first step into the Middle East with a temporary takeover of Ounass Stage in Dubai. Serving as the launch for digital luxury retailer Ounass’s brand-new physical concept, the six-month retail and hospitality environment brings founder Teddy Santis’s highly curated vision of contemporary menswear and the New York City lifestyle to the region.
The design of the pop-up space mirrors the sophisticated built-out experience that’s made the brand’s flagship locations on New York’s Mulberry Street and London’s Golden Square akin to cultural destinations. Beyond a standard apparel display, the bespoke space has been designed to showcase the broader universe of Aimé Leon Dore, from its unconventional product collaborations to its sister food-and-beverage ventures.
The interior is anchored by prominent art installations, notably featuring a signature basketball-inspired sculpture by artist Tyrrell Winston, like those in other locations, alongside a selection of vintage objects that reference Santis’s affinity for mid-century design and New York taste profile. The visual centerpiece of the Dubai takeover is the display of an authentic Aimé Leon Dore Porsche 911SC. The vehicle serves as a direct nod to the brand’s ongoing legacy of high-profile automotive partnerships.
Additionally, the Dubai outpost introduces the region to the Café Leon Dore concept. Seamlessly integrated into the Ounass Stage layout, the café experience relies on a custom Café Leon Dore x La Marzocco Linea 2 espresso machine, a uniform fixture across the brand’s global flagship ecosystems. By pairing its high-end retail environment with its famous cafe, the takeover acts as a blueprint for how modern independent labels are evolving past traditional brick-and-mortar structures to build fully realized brand worlds.
