HIROB's curation pushes the design toward classic hand styling and a sharper overall atmosphere

Seiko is teaming with vintage watch specialist HIROB on a special-order Edifice model built around gold-toned styling and a distinctly classical sensibility. The collaboration reworks Seiko‘s Edifice line through HIROB’s eye for antique watch design, landing on a case and dial combination that leans vintage rather than sport-driven.

At the center of the watch is a stainless steel case finished in gold plating, paired with an ivory dial set with Roman numeral indices. The dial’s rectangular shape and subtle square detailing push the design toward a more classical silhouette than Edifice’s usual sport-watch language, a shift echoed in the design’s classic hand styling and sharper overall atmosphere.

Underneath, the watch runs on Seiko‘s Cal.7N01 quartz movement, keeping average monthly accuracy within about 15 seconds and running on a battery rated for roughly three years. A Hardlex crystal covers the dial, and the case is built for 5 atmospheres of water resistance, enough for daily wear without venturing into dive-watch territory. A black genuine leather band grounds the gold-toned case in a more understated finish, and the watch is manufactured in Japan and backed by a three-year warranty.

The project draws on HIROB’s specialty in antique and vintage watches, an expertise applied here to Edifice’s existing template rather than a ground-up redesign. Instead of leaning on Edifice’s typical chronograph-driven, motorsport-inspired language, this special order pulls from watchmaking’s classical era and translates that sensibility into a modern quartz build.

Pre-orders for the Seiko x HIROB special-order Edifice are open now for ¥42,900 JPY (approx. $280 USD).
