SteelSeries has introduced the Apex Pro TKL Gen 3 Cyber and Steel, a pair of limited-edition keyboards that expand the brand’s flagship magnetic-switch line with new switch options. Arriving as part of the company’s 25th anniversary celebrations, the LTD Series keeps the Gen 3 platform’s core hardware and software intact while giving players more control over how each keypress feels.

The headline change sits inside the switches. SteelSeries’ OmniPoint 3.0 switches now come in two spring-weight variants: Speed, tuned for lighter and faster actuation, and Control, built with more resistance for deliberate, measured inputs. Rather than relying on software alone to change how a board responds, the new weights let players choose a physical feel that matches their playstyle before any settings are touched.

Beneath each key is what SteelSeries calls the industry’s first Hall Effect Gen 3 sensor, which the brand markets with an “S-Tier” label. Hall Effect switches read key position magnetically instead of through physical contact, which allows actuation points to be measured and adjusted with fine precision. SteelSeries positions the Apex Pro line as the world’s fastest gaming keyboards, and the Gen 3 sensing is the foundation of that claim.

Acoustics and feel get attention as well. SteelSeries has fitted the LTD boards with what it describes as 3x dampening foam alongside factory lubrication, aiming to smooth out keystrokes and cut down on hollow case noise. Both editions use a tenkeyless layout, dropping the number pad for a more compact footprint and more room for mouse movement.

Software ties the hardware together through GG QuickSet, a patent-pending tool that powers what SteelSeries brands as Triple Threat Tech. The suite combines Rapid Trigger, Protection Mode and Rapid Tap, and SteelSeries says the Apex Pro Gen 3 Series is the only premium keyboard line to offer all three. Rapid Trigger resets a key the instant it starts to rise rather than at a fixed point, while Rapid Tap prioritizes the most recent of two opposing directional inputs. QuickSet lets players assign these features, along with per-key actuation depths, to individual game profiles, so the board can switch to a pro-level setup automatically without constant manual tweaking.
