The Marvel Infinity Gauntlet replica created by East Continental Gems is set to be auctioned this December, marking the first time the one-of-one piece has been offered for sale. Built using the same design files behind the gauntlet seen on screen, the commission swaps the film prop’s fictional stones for six real gems, each matched to one of the Infinity Stones.

The gems are what separate this gauntlet from every other replica on the market. Most stones sold today have undergone some form of treatment to improve their color or clarity, but all six set into this piece are untouched, a combination Julien’s Auctions suggests may not come together again. The standout is the emerald chosen for the Time Stone, a gem first unearthed more than 100 years ago that East Continental Gems kept in its own collection for over three decades and repeatedly refused to sell before releasing it for this project.

The construction is rooted in Marvel’s own blueprints. The studio opened up the layered design files behind the screen-used gauntlet, allowing East Continental Gems to reproduce the prop’s form faithfully while substituting precious stones for the props’ fabricated ones. The New York jeweler, a family business working out of the same office since 1972, handled the task of translating each fictional stone into a real-world counterpart.

The project traces back to 2019, when East Continental Gems CEO Adam Mirzoeff noticed a toy Infinity Gauntlet sitting on a senior Marvel executive’s desk and floated the idea, mostly as a joke, of making a real one. The finished piece was later shown publicly at San Diego Comic-Con in 2022.

The gauntlet will serve as a headline lot of Julien’s Auctions’ Celebrity & Culture Experience, with the sale itself titled Pop Culture Legends. “Presenting it in Abu Dhabi, as part of Pop Culture Legends auction, gives it a stage worthy of what it is: a true 1-of-1,” Julien’s Auctions CEO Ken Citron said in a statement. Before the sale, the piece will travel to Bahrain for a tour running through November.

Getting a paddle for this lot takes more than registering. Julien’s Auctions requires every bidder to be pre-approved, and the house is urging interested collectors to reach out early to discuss the gauntlet and begin that vetting process.

The 1-of-1 Marvel Infinity Gauntlet goes under the hammer December 8 at Julien’s Auctions’ Pop Culture Legends sale at Rosewood Abu Dhabi, with bidder pre-approval required.
