NIGO has handled the creative direction on a one-off Gulfstream G500, styling everything from its matte paint to the cabin interior
The long-range business jet can fly nonstop from Japan to Los Angeles or Sydney and marks the G500's first introduction for Japan-based operations
Sold as fractional ownership, the aircraft extends NOT A HOTEL's shared-villa model into private aviation, with the full travel chain managed from one app
NOT A GARAGE, the new mobility company under NOT A HOTEL parent NOTA, has opened sales for the Gulfstream G500 NIGO JET, a one-of-a-kind private aircraft designed inside and out by NIGO. Rather than a livery added to a stock plane, the project gives NIGO control over the jet’s entire visual identity, then layers on a NOT A HOTEL-style ownership program that covers everything from the ride to the airport to the meal served at altitude.
NIGO’s treatment starts on the fuselage. The exterior is finished in matte tones, and the release renderings show a deep olive green body set against a copper-hued lower half and engine nacelles, though the paint scheme is still listed as a proposal. Inside, the cabin follows his personal design sensibility, so the look stays consistent from the first glimpse on the tarmac to the moment passengers step off.
The layout splits into three separate living zones, plus a galley and a lavatory, with Gulfstream tuning the space for working, eating and resting in quiet. Fourteen windows line the cabin, each among the largest fitted to any business aircraft, pulling generous daylight inside and turning the view into part of the interior.
Performance matches the long-haul brief. The G500 covers roughly 9,800 km on a single run, enough for direct trips from Japan to Los Angeles or Sydney, and it cruises up to Mach 0.925, about 980 km/h, with a maximum operating ceiling of 51,000 ft. The NIGO JET is also the first G500 brought in for Japan-based operation.
Owners never have to manage the plane itself. NOT A GARAGE and its operating partner take on daily flight operations, safety oversight, crew staffing, insurance and scheduled upkeep, including inspections and part replacements aligned with Gulfstream’s maintenance program, plus ongoing crew training and certification. The jet will be based at Narita International Airport, serve both domestic and international routes, and run on a planned eight-year ownership term.
A private chauffeur collects owners anywhere within Tokyo’s 23 wards and drives them to Narita or Haneda, where security checks, and for overseas trips immigration, customs and quarantine, all happen inside a dedicated business jet facility. A car then delivers passengers directly to the aircraft for immediate boarding. Onboard, menus are overseen by NOT A HOTEL’s chefs, and the team can arrange extras like catering from a favorite restaurant, sushi and Japanese dishes prepared on the plane, specific champagne and wine labels, or a birthday cake.
Everything runs through the NOT A HOTEL app, where owners can book flights, pre-order food and drinks and store passenger and passport details. They can also gift flights to friends and family, who can fly even when the owner stays home.
Sales for the NIGO JET are open now through NOT A GARAGE’s website, with flights scheduled to begin in December 2027.
