Summary

Byredo and Iittala expand LJUS into a full glass home collection.

Sculptural forms explore the interaction of light, scent and flame.

Five handcrafted pieces launch globally on October 16, 2026.

Following its initial reveal earlier this year, Byredo and Iittala are bringing their LJUS collaboration into full view, expanding the project into a complete collection of glass objects built around the relationship between light, scent and everyday ritual.

Rooted in a shared Nordic design sensibility, the partnership combines Iittala’s glassmaking heritage with Byredo’s more atmospheric approach to fragrance, treating flame not simply as a functional element but as something that activates the objects themselves. The collection takes inspiration from the changing character of Nordic light, balancing ideas of fire and ice, permanence and ephemerality through sculptural forms intended to subtly alter the mood of a room.

The lineup comprises a candle stand, candle ornament, light refractor, incense holder and fragrance diffuser vessel, each handcrafted at Iittala’s historic factory in Finland. Visually, the pieces share a pronounced rippled and faceted glass language, with thick transparent walls catching and distorting surrounding light while amplifying the movement of a flame within. The light refractor is the most architectural expression of that idea, wrapping a candle within a substantial undulating glass shell, while the diffuser vessel translates the same silhouette into a smaller form with a softly tinted lower section. Subtle differences in surface, proportion and clarity are deliberately preserved as traces of the handmaking process, giving each piece a less uniform, more tactile character.

The full Byredo x Iittala LJUS collection launches globally today and will be available through Iittala stores, Iittala.com, and Byredo’s direct-to-consumer channels.
