Sydney Airport’s $6b plan to make flying less miserable

Travellers leaving Sydney Airport on Virgin Australia or Jetstar flights to Australian cities and towns this Christmas will queue at check-in counters alongside big square boxes labelled “construction site” and notice wires and large plastic sheets hanging from the ceiling.
The chaos at Australia’s busiest terminal, known as T2, will continue well into next year but airport boss Scott Charlton says the noise and dust will be worth it.
