What it’s like driving Australia’s first Porsche

This is it, one of the two Porsche 356s that arrived in Australia in late 1951. It’s short, it’s low and it’s seriously iconic. After all, what other 75-year-old car could be parked beside its modern equivalent and be recognised by its shape alone?

It belongs to retired Brisbane radiologist Mark, who asked for his surname to be withheld. He bought it in 2021 to add to his collection, which already boasted two 356s, including a super-desirable Speedster.
