DENZA Z9GT Makes Its Asia Pacific Debut In Malaysia for RM358,800

DENZA Malaysia officially launched their flagship premium DENZA Z9GT grand tourer electric vehicle for RM358,800. Features include a 701 km NEDC range, 1,210 Nm of torque, and an advanced high-voltage flash charging feature that fills the battery from 10% to 70% in just 5 minutes. It’s one of the few BYD advanced e3 Platform EVs on the market that can do this.

Advanced e3 Platform and High-Voltage Tech Specs

The new grand tourer marks the introduction of BYD's advanced e3 Platform in Malaysia, combining a tri-motor all-wheel drive setup that pushes out 850 kW (1,156 PS) and 1,210 Nm of torque. Performance testing shows it can hit 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, with an estimated electric range of up to 701 km under the NEDC cycle. 

The DENZA Z9GT utilizes a 15-degree rear axle steering system to manage a tight 4.62-metre turning radius alongside specialized capabilities like Crab Mode, Pencil Compass Turn, e3 Parking, and Vehicle Motion Control (VMC). The vehicle is also the first model to carry the 122.49 kWh Second Generation Blade Battery, which boasts approximately 5% higher energy density than its predecessor. Built on a 1,000V architecture, the high-voltage setup supports BYD Flash Charging Technology, which is rated to power the vehicle from 10% to 70% in 5 minutes and 10% to 97% in 9 minutes.

Inside, the cabin features a premium 20-speaker Devialet audio system and Google built-in connectivity. For aesthetics, the Rime Gold exterior pairs with a Dark Chocolate and Perg Beige interior or an all-Black suede option, while the Obsidian Black exterior adds a Dark Chocolate and Red Velvet choice.

To sweeten the initial launch, the package includes a 6-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, a 6-year complimentary scheduled maintenance package worth RM10,000, and 8-year or 160,000km warranties for both the battery and drive units. Early buyers also get 3 years of complimentary Flash Charging and a pair of co-branded Devialet earbuds valued at RM2,000.
