Redmi Note 17 series China release - 7-inch 120Hz OLED screen, up to 9000mAh battery and more from ~RM 780

Xiaomi officially unveiled the Redmi Note 17 series in China focusing on larger 8000 mAh battery upgrades and energy efficient chipsets. The base Redmi Note 17 features a 7 inch display starting at CNY 1,300 (~RM 780), while the Pro version adds on a 9000 mAh silicon carbon battery starting at CNY 1,600 (~RM 960). Thankfully, there are some other surprising tech specs as well.

Large batteries and other surprising tech specs

Despite having a slightly smaller 6.83 inch screen, the Pro model features an even larger 9000mAh silicon carbon battery with 67W fast charging. Surprisingly, both displays are OLED panels instead of the usual LCDs and feature more than FHD resolutions. The base variant has IP65 splash resistance while the Pro version has IP68 and IP69 water resistance along with SGS certified 3m drop resistance and a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 layer as well.

Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 and Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, we expect that these smartphones could well last more than the usual 2 days on a single charge. While there aren’t any Malaysia release dates or pricing details, it'd be great if they eventually make their way here too.
