Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Wide Fold images spotted in OneUI 9

In 2026, there's no need to look far if you want to learn what an upcoming product looks like. Industry leaks are the norm these days, with details of certain products uncovered before their launches. For today, one of them would be Samsung's foldable phones launching later this year.

Galaxy foldables unveiled

According to Android Authority, Samsung itself has (perhaps unintentionally) provided images of the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Wide Fold smartphones. They were found in the latest version of Samsung's Android-based operating system, OneUI 9. While only the backs of the two phones were shown, these images give us a glimpse of what they would look like.

Overall, the design for the back of the Galaxy Z Fold8 doesn't look any different from last year's Galaxy Z Fold7. The Galaxy Wide Fold has the same aesthetics, with the rear cameras placed on the top left within an oval camera island. Nothing fancy, but it's a familiar design you can immediately identify as Samsung's.

Galaxy Wide Fold expected specs

We don't know how many changes the Galaxy Z Fold8 would have. But leakers are already hard at work, unveiling the device's specs before it even debuts. It's speculated that this would be a flagship-class device with a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, 12GB of RAM, and at least 256GB of storage.

Feature-wise, this 4:3 aspect ratio device is expected to feature an 8-inch (1968x2184) inner display and a 6.5-inch cover screen with a (2520x1080). It also has a 200MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide camera, 10MP front camera (on the cover screen), and a 10MP selfie camera (on the inner display). Lastly, it's expected to sport a 4700 (typical capacity) battery.

Since the phone isn't out yet, we don't know whether the average consumer would like it. But what do you think of the aspect ratio? Do you prefer this over a standard foldable or small tablet? Let us know in the comments below, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
