POCO F8 Ultra and F8 Pro Malaysia pre-order - Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and up to 6500mAh battery, starting price at RM2699
Today, POCO has introduced its most powerful devices to date with the launch of the POCO F8 Ultra and POCO F8 Pro. The announcement also included two new tablets, the POCO Pad X1 and Pad M1. The highlight, however, is the F8 Series, and here's everything you need to know.
The POCO F8 Ultra
At the top of the lineup, the POCO F8 Ultra uses a dual-chip configuration consisting of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 paired with POCO’s dedicated VisionBoost D8 co-processor. This combination targets high sustained performance, with VisionBoost D8 enhancing gaming by enabling 120 FPS gameplay, up to 1.5K upscaling through Super Resolution, and Game HDR. The device also introduces an AI Super Resolution engine optimised for games like Call of Duty: Mobile and Honkai: Star Rail.
The F8 Ultra features a redesigned LiquidCool IceLoop setup with a dual-channel, dual-layer vapour chamber system covering a total area of 6700 mm². One layer manages heat from the SoC directly, while the second layer addresses the mainboard and camera-adjacent heat zones.
Next, POCO debuts its new HyperRGB display on the F8 Ultra, offering a full RGB subpixel layout for sharper clarity comparable to 2K panels but with 19.5% lower power consumption versus the previous generation. The display uses M10 luminescent material, pushing luminous efficiency up by 11.4% and reducing energy draw further. It supports DC dimming, 1-nit ultra-low brightness, and comes in a large 6.9-inch size with narrow bezels.
The F8 Ultra brings a major imaging upgrade with a 50MP Light Fusion 950 main sensor (1/1.31") that offers OIS, higher light sensitivity and lower power consumption. It’s paired with a 50MP 5x periscope telephoto system capable of 10x in-sensor zoom and up to 20x digital zoom. A dedicated Motion Capture mode enhances clarity for fast-moving subjects, and Super Moon Mode activates automatically at 20x zoom. A 50MP ultra-wide and a 32MP intelligent wide-angle selfie camera round out the system.
Powering the F8 Ultra is a 6500mAh battery, the largest in the F-series so far, paired with 100W HyperCharge capable of reaching full charge in about 38 minutes. Wireless 50W HyperCharge is also supported.
POCO F8 Pro
On the other hand, the POCO F8 Pro carries the Snapdragon 8 Elite platform as well, along with the same HyperRGB display and audio system. The phone includes a 6.59-inch “golden ratio” display and weighs 199g, while cooling is handled by a 3D triple-layer IceLoop solution, designed to increase thermal capacity by 40% over the previous generation.
The device includes a 6210mAh battery with 100W fast charging (0–100% in 37 minutes). On top of that, a new imaging setup places a dedicated 50MP telephoto camera with 2.5x optical zoom alongside a 50MP main camera with the Light Fusion 800 sensor.
