HUAWEI Nova 15 series launch confirmed - 50MP primary camera, over 6000mAh battery and more arriving soon
HUAWEI has announced the launch of the Nova 15 series, with initial pricing expected to be in the RM1500 range, similar to past Nova models such as the Nova 14 series that started from RM1299 in Malaysia. So, what should you know about it?
While final pricing for the Nova 15 lineup has not been confirmed for local availability, the company has set a launch date for 22 December 2025 in China. The new Nova 15 series introduces a visual refresh for Huawei’s popular mid-range lineup.
Moreover, the official teaser images show a redesigned rear camera layout, especially on the Nova 15 Ultra, where the lenses and flash are separated into two distinct circular elements within a rectangular module. This updated look could help the new Nova models stand out from earlier generations.
What to expect from the Nova 15 series
Details on the full features and tech specs are still partly unconfirmed, but several credible leaks have outlined what the Nova 15 range may offer. Reports suggest Huawei is preparing three models for this lineup: the Nova 15, Nova 15 Pro, and Nova 15 Ultra. Across the series, the phones are expected to feature 1.5K LTPO OLED displays with smooth refresh rates and improved power efficiency.
In addition, cameras are likely to be a key focus. The Nova 15 Pro is tipped to include a dual front camera setup with a 50 megapixel main sensor and an 8 megapixel secondary unit, while the standard Nova 15 may use a single 50 megapixel selfie camera.
On the rear, the phones could feature a 50 megapixel main camera, a periscope telephoto lens, and an ultra-wide camera. A multispectral sensor is also expected to improve colour accuracy and low-light performance on higher-end models.
In terms of performance, the Nova 15 Ultra is rumoured to be powered by a Kirin 9-series chipset, while the Nova 15 and Nova 15 Pro may use Kirin 8-series processors. Battery capacity is another highlight, with all models said to pack batteries exceeding 6000 milliampere-hours, although official figures have not yet been shared.
