U Mobile opened first Bangsar retail store as ULTRA5G coverage expands

Last week, U Mobile strengthened its footprint in Bangsar with the opening of its first full-service retail store at Telawi Square, marking another step in the telco’s ongoing push to bring services closer to customers. As Malaysia’s newest 5G network provider, the company says the new outlet is designed to offer a more convenient and personalised retail experience for both new and existing subscribers.

Located in the heart of Bangsar, the store allows customers to sign up for new plans, upgrade existing subscriptions, purchase devices and receive in-person support. The launch aligns with U Mobile’s broader retail growth strategy, which focuses on improving accessibility and customer engagement nationwide.

Expanded ULTRA5G Coverage Across Bangsar

Alongside the new retail opening, U Mobile has also expanded its 5G network coverage throughout Bangsar, including enhanced indoor connectivity. This in-building coverage is enabled through collaboration with infrastructure partner EdgePoint Towers, ensuring more consistent performance in high-traffic locations.

Seamless indoor 5G access is now available at popular shopping destinations, such as Bangsar Village 1, Bangsar Village 2 and Bangsar Shopping Centre. Outdoor ULTRA5G coverage has also been rolled out across key commercial and lifestyle areas, including Jalan Telawi, Jalan Bangkung and Jalan Penaga, supporting both residents and businesses in the area.

According to U Mobile Chief Marketing Officer Navin Manian, the Bangsar store represents more than just an additional retail location. He said the company aims to deliver stronger customer experiences by combining reliable connectivity with a more engaging physical touchpoint.

With expanded ULTRA5G coverage now available both indoors and outdoors, U Mobile believes the improved network will support a wide range of lifestyles and work needs. To mark the launch, U Mobile invited customers to visit the Bangsar store from 16 to 18 January 2026 at Ground Floor, Telawi Square, Jalan Telawi 3, Kuala Lumpur. The opening weekend also featured a lucky draw with prizes worth up to RM28000, including high-end smartphones and 5G-enabled devices.
