Jabra Evolve3 75 Review - A great headphone for hybrid work and office usage, but...
Have you ever worked in an open space office and for some reason, there's a colleague who likes to play songs like nobody's business, like an uncle watching TikTok loudly in public? If the answer is yes, then the Jabra Evolve3 75 could be the one you're looking for, as it is the 3rd-gen headphone developed by Jabra over the years of specialising in this.
To the uninitiated, the Jabra Evolve series has always been aimed at professionals who spend a big part of their day on calls, and the new Jabra Evolve3 75 continues that focus with a more modern, flexible approach. But at RM2300, that is quite a hefty price to ask for. Without further ado, let's dive into all the pros and cons and whether it's worth what it offers.
Designed with hybrid work in mind, this latest model introduces a lighter on-ear form factor that feels noticeably more breathable compared to traditional over-ear office headsets. It is a subtle but meaningful shift, especially if you are wearing it across long meetings or moving between home and office setups. Right away, the design leans toward practicality, and it's easy to wear and take off as well.
The Evolve3 75 is incredibly lightweight, the more compact build makes it easier to slip into a bag without feeling bulky, which suits users who are constantly on the move. At the same time, the on-ear structure helps maintain a level of situational awareness, so you are not completely cut off from your surroundings. This is particularly useful if you are working in shared spaces or need to stay alert to what is happening around you, such as when your boss is calling for you.
Since it's designed for office usage, Jabra has also moved toward a boomless design here, replacing the traditional microphone arm with an AI-enhanced multi-microphone system powered by its ClearVoice technology. In use, this setup aims to deliver clear voice pickup without the visual clutter of a protruding boom mic. From experience, those who called me on my phone or through Zoom calls have said the same thing: they don't hear external noise from my end. Likewise, I could hear them crystal clear, which is just amazing stuff.
If you want to adjust the surrounding sound to give you better awareness, you will need to download the Jabra Sound+ app. The user interface is very straightforward, as it presents you with different sound modes, call audio quality, even a music equaliser, and more. Personally, I wouldn't adjust the settings too much, as most of the default settings are good enough for office usage. Yes, including the music equaliser, which adds respectable sound quality to your favourite music playlist.
Speaking of music playlists, the quality of the songs played through the Evolve3 75 is actually pretty good. In fact, I would even argue that the default neutral setting can give you the clearest sound quality than your current one. For example, I'm hearing musical instruments that I don't recall listening to in Michael Jackson's "Black or White" and "You're Not Alone" songs, heavy metal songs like Poppy's newest album sound raw and sharp, and even songs relying on bass are alright. However, earphones or headphones with better equaliser settings (especially with AI assistance, like from Nothing) are still no doubt better.
Audio performance is complemented by adaptive active noise cancellation that remains active even during calls. This is important because many headsets reduce noise cancellation once you jump into meetings, but here it continues to work in the background to keep distractions to a minimum. On top of that, the inclusion of Spatial Sound helps make conversations feel more natural, giving voices a bit more depth rather than sounding flat or overly compressed.
Battery life is another strong point. Depending on how you use it, the headset can deliver up to 37 hours of usage (on paper), which is more than enough for several days of work without reaching for the charger. For call-heavy users, Jabra said it offers up to 22 hours of talk time or up to 110 hours of listening when features like ANC and the busylight are turned off. The fast-charging feature is especially handy, as just 10 minutes of charging can give you around 10 hours of use, which is perfect for those last-minute top-ups before a meeting or a long road trip.
From experience, I think I have only charged it two or three times during my two weeks of usage. Perhaps if comparing it with other modern headsets, it's nothing special. But its battery longevity performance cannot be ignored. It takes "awfully" long to completely drain the Evolve3 75 even after a full day's use, so that gets a thumbs up from me. Enough said.
Connectivity is equally modern with secure Bluetooth Low Energy support and Google Fast Pair. The pairing process is quick without the need for a USB dongle, and it pairs fast on any platform, from Windows to iOS. It can connect to two devices at once easily, and switching between them is seamless, as I didn't need to press any button for that.
While I have been writing praises for the Evolve3 75, there are still a couple of nitpicks that I can't take my mind off:
- It would be nice to have a skip button on the Evolve3 75.
- The wearing detection is inconsistent, especially when taking it off and laying it around your neck. Most of the time, my song would just continue playing. But at least when I take it off and put it on a table, it works (and sometimes not).
- Having a dedicated Microsoft Teams button on the headphone is a questionable choice by Jabra. Perhaps it's a partnership deal made between them, but I think many Malaysians use Zoom more than the former.
- And finally, that RM2300 price tag.
Ah, yes. The price tag is probably the most important factor in this review. In all seriousness, RM2300 is a lot to ask for for a headphone designed for hybrid work and office usage. That price range falls in the premium category of headphones! It may not be a fair comparison, but I would very much use that money to get an Apple AirPods Max 2 for RM2299, which also has comfortable over-ear cups, advanced ANC and voice isolation, long battery life, adaptive audio and transparency mode, and...yeah, you get the point by now. Heck, you could also get the Sony WH-1000XM6 for RM2099 for the same reasons.
If you can look past the price, the Jabra Evolve3 75 is overall a thoughtful upgrade that aligns well with how people work today. It balances comfort, portability, and smart features in a way that makes it suitable for both office and remote setups, while keeping the experience simple and dependable where it matters most. Again, that is if you can close one eye on the price tag.
