The latest Microsoft laptops were announced earlier today, adding new models to the Surface Laptop and Surface Pro series. In particular, the Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 promises much better performance, a long battery life, and other new features.

Tech specs and features

The Microsoft Surface Laptop 8 sports an Intel Core Ultra 5 Processor 325 CPU, 16GB of LPDDR5x RAM, and 256GB of PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. Additionally, the RAM can be upgraded to 24GB, and the SSD can be replaced with a larger one at a later date. It also has integrated Intel Graphics, which is enough for office productivity. The battery life is impressive too, delivering up to 23 hours of battery. You can check the official product page for the full specs list.

Note that the Surface Laptop 8 comes in two variants. The first one features a 13.8-inch PixelSense Flow touchscreen display with 2304x1536 resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 600-nit peak brightness. On the other hand, the other variant packs a larger 15-inch touchscreen PixelSense Flow display with a 3270x2180 resolution. Microsoft is also offering an optional privacy screen, which limits viewing angles to prevent prying eyes.

Price and availability

The eight generation Microsoft Surface Laptop is now out in the US with prices starting from USD 1,499 (~RM5,963). Its availability in Malaysia hasn't been confirmed, but we're expecting to hear more from Microsoft Malaysia in the coming weeks.
