The DENZA B8 will be the first luxury PHEV SUV to enter the Malaysian market

The DENZA B8 has been officially introduced to the Malaysian market, marking the brand’s entry into the luxury electric off-road SUV segment. It is also DENZA’s first plug-in hybrid SUV to be offered in the country. That said, what should you know about it?

An EV made for true off-road capability

For your information, the DENZA B8 is built around three key components that underpin the overall driving experience, namely the platform, intelligent suspension system and premium cabin. The DENZA B8 uses a combination of a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine with two electric motors and BYD's Blade Battery technology.

Additionally, the DMO system is specifically developed to offer true off-road capability without sacrificing fuel efficiency and everyday driving comfort. In total, the system produces up to 450kW of power and 760Nm of torque.

Moreover, the SUV also offers a fully electric driving range of up to 115km and a combined range of up to 1040km based on the NEDC cycle. Users can take advantage of several driving modes, including Pure EV, HEV Series and Parallel Mode, which automatically operate according to road conditions and driving style.

For better stability when cornering

In addition to the powertrain system, the DENZA B8 is also equipped with the DiSus-P suspension system, which is able to actively adjust the suspension character and body movement in real time. It is designed to provide better stability when cornering, on uneven roads or when driving in challenging conditions. For design, the DENZA B8 comes with an identity inspired by the “Starship Mecha” concept.

Besides that, it is matched with “Starship Wing” LED daytime running lights and “Energy Thruster” taillight design that gives a futuristic and more aggressive image. The interior focuses on luxury and a more comprehensive user experience. Among the features offered are Nappa leather trim for the Premium variant and a premium audio system with 18 speakers that comes standard for all variants.

The DENZA B8 will be on display for the first time at a preview event taking place from 22 to 24 May 2026 at Bangsar Shopping Centre, Kuala Lumpur, from 10am to 10pm. Pre-registration for this model is also open via the official DENZA Malaysia website
