HUAWEI Malaysia launched a partnership with MMU and MoE to boost TVET-AI

The Ministry of Education Malaysia (MOE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Multimedia University (MMU) and Huawei Technologies Malaysia to implement the TVET–AI programme in Full Boarding Schools (SBP). So, what should you know about it?

For your information, this collaboration aims to strengthen technical and vocational education in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) with initial implementation in five selected SBPs before expanding to other schools. The five SBPs are Banting Science Secondary School, Selangor, Setiu Science Secondary School, Terengganu, Alor Gajah Science Secondary School, Melaka, Kuching Science Secondary School, Sarawak and Tun Syed Sheh Shahabudin Science Secondary School, Penang.

More schools could join this programme in the future

Additionally, this list of schools shows the initial locations of the TVET-AI programme implementation before it is expanded to other schools in the future. With industry support like HUAWEI, students not only receive theoretical but also practical exposure relevant to the real needs of the job market.

Moreover, HUAWEI Malaysia also provides the internationally recognized Huawei Certified ICT Associate–Artificial Intelligence (HCIA–AI) professional certificate , thus being an added value for students as it helps increase their marketability in the field of technology and artificial intelligence.

In addition, this can also be considered a continuation of the previous collaboration between the Ministry of Human Resources and Huawei which aimed to strengthen TVET to meet the needs of industry and technology. This will help improve the quality of the skills training sector in Malaysia and accelerate the country's digital transformation.

Besides that, HUAWEI recently opened the HUAWEI AI Lab & Innovation Centre in TRX , Kuala Lumpur which functions as a research and innovation centre. This collaboration can be seen as complementing their efforts in providing wider practical opportunities for students and educators, especially among the locals.
