Steam Machine and Frame could arrive on the market this July 2026

Recently, Valve announced that the Steam Machine console and Steam Frame headset will go on sale this summer. There's no firm date for when they'll go on sale, but summer officially starts in July. Let’s take a closer look.

This is not the first time Steam has delayed the launch for these devices

For your information, the launch of both devices has been delayed several times due to a RAM component crisis, and Valve has reportedly been unable to set a retail price for the same reason. The announcement has been made, but Valve has yet to reveal the retail price of the Steam Machine and Frame.

To recap, the Steam Machine is equipped with an AMD Zen 4 6C / 12T chip with speeds up to 4.8 GHz, an AMD RDNA3 GPU with 28CU and 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, 16GB DDR5 memory and up to 1TB NVMe SSD storage. Storage can be expanded using a microSD card. According to Valve, this new generation Steam Machine is six times more powerful than the Steam Deck, allowing it to run AAA games at up to 8K 30p settings.

Moreover, the Steam Frame also features dual LCD screens with a resolution of 2160 x 2160 pixels, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory, up to 1TB of storage, and a 21.6 Wh battery. Both Valve devices run SteamOS 3 and they would allow you to play games from Steam as a headset or like a console.
