Honor Power 2 set to launch on 5 Jan 2026 with a 10080mAh battery

The switch from lithium-ion to silicon-carbon has seen smartphone batteries become progressively larger in 2025. However, we haven't seen the peak yet. Companies have begun to push for phones with a battery capacity of over 10000mAh, and Honor is set to launch one soon.

Largest to date

Honor yesterday announced that the Honor Power 2 will launch on 5 January 2026. The highlight of this device is its massive 10080mAh battery, easily the largest smartphone battery to date. This is the battery capacity you normally see in a large 10+ inch tablet. However, it's now possible in a smaller form factor because of silicon-carbon tech.

Other specs

Of course, Honor also revealed a few other details of the upcoming phone. The Honor Power 2 will sport a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Elite chipset, 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of internal storage. Overall, it's a solid upgrade over its predecessor. For reference, the Honor Power launched in April 2025 with a Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, and an 8000mAh battery.

Price and availability

The highly affordable Honor Power launched in China for 1999 yuan (~RM 1156). Even with the price hike for RAMs, we can expect the Honor Power 2 to retail for under RM1500. Unfortunately, the former was never officially launched here, so we don't expect this one to come to Malaysia either.
