OPPO Reno 16 series China release - Dimensity 9400e chipset, up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage and more from ~RM2,280

OPPO has officially launched the new OPPO Reno16 series in China, with prices starting from CNY3499, which is around RM2280. The lineup currently includes the OPPO Reno16 and Reno16 Pro, both featuring upgraded camera systems, larger batteries, and new MediaTek chipsets.

The Reno16 series also introduces a refreshed flat display design with slimmer bezels and improved durability ratings. While Malaysia release dates have not been confirmed yet, the smartphones are expected to arrive in more markets later this year.

OPPO Reno16 Series Focuses On Cameras And Battery Life

One of the main highlights of the Reno16 series is its camera setup. Both devices feature a 200MP main camera, alongside a 50MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with optical zoom support. There is also a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

OPPO says the Reno16 Pro comes with upgraded image stabilisation for improved photography and video recording performance. The phones also include several AI-powered photography and editing features, along with Live Photo support across all cameras.

For performance, the standard Reno16 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8450 chipset, while the Reno16 Pro uses the newer MediaTek Dimensity 9400e processor. Both devices support up to 16GB RAM and up to 1TB internal storage, depending on the configuration.

Bigger Batteries And Faster Charging

Battery capacity has also been increased compared to the previous Reno generation. The Reno16 packs a 6700mAh battery with 80W fast charging support, while the Reno16 Pro features a larger 7000mAh battery with 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging support.

Both smartphones also come with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. Other features include AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates, in-display fingerprint scanners, WiFi 7 support, and OPPO’s new AI shortcut button.

In China, the OPPO Reno16 starts from CNY3499, which converts to around RM2280. Meanwhile, the Reno16 Pro starts from CNY4499, which is around RM2930. Higher storage variants are priced higher depending on the configuration.

At the moment, OPPO has not announced official global or Malaysian release dates for the Reno16 series. However, based on previous Reno launches, the devices could arrive in selected international markets in the coming months.
