Snow and sleet in Latvia on Monday

In the afternoon and evening, heavy snowfall is expected in some areas, with occasional blizzards. Visibility will deteriorate during heavy snowfall. By evening, a blanket of snow will begin to form in many places.

A northwesterly wind will blow, with gusts of 12-17 metres per second in the central and western parts of the country during the day, and up to 20-23 meters per second on the coast.

The maximum air temperature will be 0 to +5 degrees, but in the afternoon and evening it will become colder throughout Latvia, with frost, icy roads and slippery conditions.

In Rīga, wet snow is expected at times. Gusty northwesterly winds up to 15-18 metres per second, possibly even 20 metres per second in the north of the city. Maximum air temperature +2 to +3 C, in the evening it will also get colder in Rīga, with frost and icy roads.
