Hot Summer Weather Continues in Bulgaria on Monday

Clear skies and rising temperatures will dominate Bulgaria on Monday, August 3, with hot summer weather expected across most of the country and only limited cloud development over the eastern regions.

The night will be calm and clear, allowing temperatures to drop in valleys and low-lying areas. Early morning conditions will be comfortable, with good visibility across the country.

Monday will bring mostly sunny weather nationwide. Eastern Bulgaria will see occasional increases in cloud cover as cooler air moves through the upper atmosphere, but the chance of rainfall will remain very low. The weather pattern is expected to lower temperatures slightly in the east without causing any significant changes.

A light to moderate northeast wind will blow throughout the day, providing some relief from the heat, particularly in Northeastern Bulgaria and along the Black Sea coast.

Daytime highs will range from 31°C to 36°C, with the hottest conditions forecast for the Danube Plain, the Upper Thracian Lowland and Southwestern Bulgaria.

Sofia will enjoy sunny weather from morning through evening, with no rain expected. Winds will remain light, becoming northeasterly during the afternoon and making the heat feel somewhat more comfortable. Temperatures in the capital are expected to reach between 30°C and 32°C before gradually cooling after sunset.

Mountain areas will also experience stable summer conditions, with sunshine and excellent visibility throughout the day. No significant precipitation is expected, although moderate northeasterly winds may become temporarily stronger at higher elevations. Temperatures will reach around 27°C at 1,200 meters and about 20°C at 2,000 meters, creating favorable conditions for hiking and outdoor activities.

Along the Black Sea coast, sunshine will prevail despite periods of increased cloudiness, mainly over the northern coastline. Rain is considered unlikely. A light to moderate northeast breeze will keep beach conditions comfortable, while daytime temperatures will range between 28°C and 31°C. Sea water temperatures will remain between 23°C and 24°C, with waves reaching Sea State 2 to 3, providing favorable conditions for swimming and seaside tourism.

Across the Balkans, a high-pressure system will continue to dominate, bringing stable and mostly sunny weather throughout the region. Serbia, North Macedonia, Albania, Kosovo and inland Greece are expected to experience particularly hot conditions, with temperatures exceeding 35°C in some areas. Romania will also see sunny skies and high summer temperatures.

Slightly cooler air will affect the eastern edge of the Balkan Peninsula, including Eastern Bulgaria, the European part of Turkey and the western Black Sea coast. While cloud cover may briefly increase and isolated light showers cannot be ruled out, no significant rainfall or severe weather is expected.
