Italy Proposes Burqa Ban In Schools, Limits On Foreign Students & Mandatory Language Lessons

The Italian government has proposed a ban on burqas and niqabs in schools, alongside measures to limit the number of foreign students in classrooms. Under the proposals outlined at a youth wing gathering of the Brothers of Italy party, foreign parents facing difficulties integrating into the school system may also be required to attend compulsory Italian language lessons. The measures require approval from the Italian parliament before coming into force, as immigration remains a central issue ahead of the upcoming general election.
