by Auto Today · India TodayThe Hyundai Venue has achieved a major milestone in the Indian market, surpassing 8 lakh cumulative domestic sales since its debut in 2019. With total sales reaching 8,02,221 units by the end of May 2026, the compact SUV has become Hyundai's second model after the Creta to cross the landmark figure. It is also only the third compact SUV in the country, after the Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon, to achieve this feat.
Adding export volumes of over 55,000 units, Hyundai has sold more than 8.5 lakh units of the Venue globally from India. The SUV continues to be one of the brand's strongest performers, with demand receiving a significant boost following the launch of the latest-generation model.
Currently in its second generation, the all-new Hyundai Venue is built on the company's enhanced Global K1 platform. The SUV features a larger footprint with a longer 2,520mm wheelbase, improved cabin space and a more imposing road presence. It is also the first Hyundai model to roll out from the company's new manufacturing facility in Pune.
The latest Venue adopts Hyundai's new design philosophy, featuring quad-beam LED headlamps, twin-horn LED daytime running lights, horizon-style LED tail lamps and a dark chrome front grille. Its taller and wider stance, combined with bridge-type roof rails and distinctive C-pillar detailing, gives the SUV a more premium appearance.
Inside, the Venue receives a completely redesigned cabin centred around dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays that combine the digital instrument cluster and infotainment system. Other highlights include leatherette upholstery, an electrically adjustable driver's seat, reclining rear seats, ambient lighting, rear sunshades and a Bose eight-speaker audio system.
The SUV is also offered with multiple colour options, including new shades such as Hazel Blue, Mystic Sapphire and Dragon Red, along with dual-tone roof combinations.
Hyundai offers the Venue with three engine choices. The entry-level 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine develops 83bhp and 114.7Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit produces 120bhp and 172Nm and is available with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Diesel buyers can opt for the 1.5-litre CRDi engine that delivers 116bhp and 250Nm of torque, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The sportier Venue N Line continues with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and additionally offers paddle shifters, drive modes and traction control modes for a more engaging driving experience.
