Tesla has taken another step in strengthening its presence in India with the inauguration of a new charging facility at Nexus Seawoods mall in Navi Mumbai. This marks the brand’s first in-mall charging station in the country and reflects its broader push to build a more accessible EV ecosystem.

Located in the B1 parking level, the new site features a mix of high-speed and regular charging options, including four V4 Superchargers capable of delivering up to 250kW and four Destination Chargers offering 11 kW output. Tesla claims that its Supercharging technology can add up to 275km of range to the Tesla Model Y in just 15 minutes, enabling convenient top-ups during short stops.

The move is part of Tesla’s ongoing effort to expand its charging footprint across key urban and transit hubs. With this addition, the company now operates four charging locations in India, spanning cities such as Gurugram, Delhi, Mumbai, and Navi Mumbai. These installations are strategically positioned in areas where customers typically spend time, such as malls and commercial centres, making charging more seamless and integrated into daily routines.

Complementing the infrastructure rollout, Tesla has also set up a pop-up experience zone within the mall, allowing visitors to explore its vehicles through interactive displays, guided walkthroughs, and test drives. The initiative aims to familiarise potential customers with the brand’s technology, design philosophy, and safety features.

Currently, Tesla’s India portfolio is centred around the Model Y, offered in Standard and Long Range variants, with prices ranging from Rs 59.89 lakh to Rs 67.89 lakh (ex-showroom). Buyers also have the option to add the Full Self-Driving (FSD) package at an additional cost, although its functionality remains dependent on future regulatory approvals in India.
