Wozoyo is a new consumer electronics brand from Hong Kong-based Secure Connection Limited. For those unaware, Secure Connection is the official brand licensee for Honeywell in select markets, India included. In other words, Secure Connection already has a fair bit of experience of making and selling products like air purifiers. Now, it is bringing that same experience to Wozoyo, an independent brand, that is launching simultaneously in India and the US kicking things off with a bunch of air purifiers along with laptop and charging essentials. The air purifier range is particularly interesting given that it starts at just Rs 4,999.
India Today Tech got a chance to try out one of Wozoyo’s new air purifiers, the Wozoyo Pura PA4, which is priced at Rs 11,499. It occupied the middle-ground in the portfolio spanning 5 models, with the highest-end model priced at around Rs 25,000 in India. On the surface, the Wozoyo Pura PA4 comes with a decent spec sheet – you get a HEPA 13 filter, an LED display, smart connectivity and what stands out as a unique oscillating design. Question is, can Wozoyo compete with existing heavyweights from Philips and Xiaomi.
Wozoyo Pura PA4 design: Cool looks
The Wozoyo Pura PA4 has a strikingly unique design. Unlike a cuboid-like look that we see on most air purifiers these days, Wozoyo has taken a different approach. The device comes with a stand and a rectangular frame, inside which is a cylindrical unit that almost looks like a projector. The cylindrical unit has the Wozoyo logo on the front, with cutouts for the fan around it. The LED display is placed at the top, while the filter can be changed from behind.
While design is subjective, the Pura PA4 will catch anyone’s eye when they spot it in your room. The cylindrical unit can be tilted manually, but the entire unit can oscillate on its own, something which looks quite cool.
Wozoyo Pura PA4 performance: Decent enough
The Pura PA4 gets a HEPA 13 filter, which Wozoyo says can last for roughly 9,000 hours. There is a 4-in-1 filtration system to clean indoor air. Wozoyo says that the CADR or Clean Air Delivery Rate – how quickly an air purifier can deliver air into a room – stands at 270 m/h. This is decent considering the price, and better than similarly priced Xiaomi Smart AP 4 Lite’s 150 m/h. Though the Honeywell Air Touch V5 has a CADR of 380 m/h.
During my use I found that the Pura PA4 was quite quick in action. The PM 2.5 reading would drop relatively quickly once it was turned on even in auto mode. For context, I tried lighting incense sticks in my room, and within 10 minutes, the odour was almost gone.
Though, room size also plays a role here. While it is decently fast for a small room, you may need to wait a bit if the room is on the larger side. But this is to be expected considering the size of the device and the price.
The PM 2.5 display also comes with different LEDs based on the reading. If you are using auto mode – green for low, yellow for medium, and red for high. The air purifier would quickly swing to max speed whenever the reading crossed 100. While the fan could be a bit loud at max speed, when you set it to low, you can barely hear it. The Wozoyo Pura PA4 also comes with a sleep mode that I found was quite useful as you barely notice it working in the background.
Wozoyo Pura PA4 connectivity: Almost all the smarts you need
The Pura PA4 can be connected to Wozoyo’s Pyurify app. Here you can change the fan speed, set a timer, put it to sleep mode and the works. The app also allows you to keep track of how many hours the air filter has done.
And more importantly it also allows you to compare the PM 2.5 levels indoors and outdoors. But the Pura PA4 does not come with any other readings, be it PM 10, AQI or temperature.
Apart from the app, you can connect the Pura PA4 to Amazon or Google’s smart assistants. I connected it to an Amazon Echo Dot Max, and the device would instantly change settings as I instructed Alexa.
Wozoyo Pura PA4 verdict: Good to use for the price
So, where does the Pura PA4 stand? For the price, the air purifier works decently well, particularly for small rooms. You get a few different settings to play around with, and the design is nice too. On top of that, the Wozoyo Pura PA4 gives you smart connectivity that allows you to integrate it into your existing smart home setups.
If you are someone who is looking to buy your first air purifier or are on a tight budget, the Wozoyo Pura PA4 could be your option as it manages to deliver a decent experience without cutting a big hole in your pocket.
