Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift prices out: Is the turbo-petrol the better deal?

Turbo-petrol variants undercut equivalent 1.5-litre petrol trims as Maruti Suzuki reveals the complete price list for the updated Brezza, now starting at Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki has announced the complete variant-wise prices of the 2026 Brezza, days after launching the compact SUV at an introductory starting price of Rs 7.40 lakh (ex-showroom). The refreshed Brezza receives its biggest update since the second-generation model debuted in 2022, bringing a new turbo-petrol engine, Maruti Suzuki's first six-speed manual gearbox for a mainstream passenger vehicle, a richer equipment list, updated styling and a significantly enhanced safety package.

One of the biggest talking points is the pricing of the new 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol variants. These versions are positioned below their equivalent 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol counterparts because they attract an 18 percent GST, compared to the 40 percent applicable on the 1.5-litre line-up.

The 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza continues to rival the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Kia Syros, Tata Nexon, Mahindra XUV 3XO and Skoda Kylaq in one of India's most competitive compact SUV segments.

What's new?

While the overall silhouette remains unchanged, the Brezza gets a noticeably refreshed front end with a redesigned grille, revised bumper featuring dark chrome accents and an updated faux skid plate. The LED projector headlamps with signature L-shaped daytime running lamps have been retained, while the fog lamps now sit inside new triangular housings. Fresh dual-tone body cladding and newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels further distinguish the facelift, while the rear remains largely unchanged.

Maruti Suzuki has also introduced two new exterior colours: Vivacious Orange and Lustrous Beige, both offered with a contrasting black roof. Turbo-petrol variants receive exclusive cosmetic touches, including a 'Turbo' badge on the tailgate, 'Turbo Boosterjet' decals on the rear quarter glass and red highlights on the grille, wheel arches and skid plates.

Cabin and features

Inside, the Brezza retains its familiar dual-tone black and brown dashboard but gets several meaningful upgrades. Gloss black inserts replace the earlier silver trim, the leatherette upholstery features a fresh design, and the SUV borrows new HVAC controls from the Victoris.

The feature list has also grown substantially. The facelift now comes with a larger 10.1-inch SmartPlay Pro X touchscreen infotainment system with built-in navigation and Alexa connectivity. Other additions include ventilated front seats, 64-colour ambient lighting, an air purifier and an actively cooled wireless smartphone charger, making the cabin considerably more premium than before.

Engine and gearbox

The biggest mechanical change is the introduction of the new 1.0-litre Boosterjet direct-injection turbo-petrol engine that develops 110bhp and 170Nm. It is paired exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox, marking the debut of Maruti Suzuki's first six-speed manual transmission in a mainstream passenger vehicle.

The familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine continues to produce 103bhp and 139Nm and is now available with a six-speed manual as well as a six-speed automatic transmission. Maruti Suzuki also continues to offer a factory-fitted CNG version, now featuring an underbody-mounted cylinder that frees up luggage space compared to the previous setup.

Safety

Maruti Suzuki has significantly expanded the Brezza's safety equipment list. Alongside six airbags, ABS with EBD and electronic stability control, the SUV now offers tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, safe exit warning and front parking sensors. The updated Brezza has also secured a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.

With more powertrain choices, improved value through the new turbo variants, a richer feature list and enhanced safety credentials, the 2026 Maruti Suzuki Brezza is positioned as the most comprehensive update the model has received so far, strengthening its appeal in India's fiercely contested compact SUV segment.
