A road trip in Uttarakhand’s Tyuni took a terrifying turn when a car veered off a narrow road and plunged into a nearly 100-foot gorge. A screeching sound heard moments before the crash suggests the car may have been hit from behind.

The entire sequence was captured on the car’s dashcam. The footage reveals an interesting angle. It indicates that the car may have been involved in a chase with another vehicle, possibly a Ford EcoSport, on the narrow hill road.

On the day of the incident, the car dangerously overtook the EcoSport. It subsequently sped up and moved ahead of the vehicle. It appeared that the EcoSport later tried to overtake the car, but the passengers did not allow it to pass.

“Let it go, let it go now. We are ahead of the car,” one of the passengers told the driver as loud music played inside the vehicle and a horn could be heard from behind. However, the car continued without allowing the other vehicle to pass.

One of the passengers was also heard saying, “Sorry, I am sorry,” while bursting into laughter. It was unclear whom he was referring to, and the remark appeared sarcastic.

As the car continued accelerating at high speed, the driver also asked the other passengers whether he should slow down. However, they encouraged him to continue at the same speed.

Moments later, the disaster occurred. The car was apparently hit from behind and took a dangerous swerve towards the gorge. The driver lost control, crashed into a roadside pole and plunged into the nearly 100-foot gorge.

However, it has not yet been established whether the car was actually hit or who may have hit it.

Further details about the incident are awaited.
