by Saumya Shubham Jha · India TodayLexus India has launched the ES 350h, expanding the eighth-generation ES lineup in the country. Prices start at Rs 66.10 lakh (ex-showroom) for the Exquisite variant, while the top-spec Luxury trim is priced at Rs 71.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
The ES 350h joins the recently introduced all-electric ES 500e, strengthening Lexus' multi-pathway electrification strategy by offering buyers a choice between hybrid and battery-electric powertrains. The latest ES will also be manufactured in India, continuing the localisation strategy adopted for the previous-generation model.
The eighth-generation ES has been developed under the theme "Discover Confidence" and marks the beginning of Lexus' next-generation electrified vehicle family. It adopts the brand's latest "Provocative Simplicity" design philosophy and introduces the new Clean Tech x Elegance styling language.
Compared to its predecessor, the new ES is larger in every key dimension, featuring a longer wheelbase, increased width and a taller stance. According to Lexus, these changes improve cabin space while also enhancing ride comfort and road presence. The sedan also gets increased ground clearance for Indian road conditions.
At the front, the ES features Lexus' latest signature styling with slim L-shaped LED lighting elements, while the rear receives a cleaner, more contemporary design. Buyers can choose from six exterior colours, including the newly introduced SOU and Sonic Copper, alongside White Nova, Sonic Titanium, Sonic Chrome and Graphite Black.
Inside, the cabin adopts Lexus' Tazuna driver-focused cockpit layout. The dashboard is dominated by a 14-inch high-definition touchscreen running the latest Lexus multimedia interface, paired with a fully digital instrument cluster. The sedan will be offered with two interior colour themes.
Powering the ES 350h is a newly developed 2.5-litre four-cylinder self-charging hybrid powertrain paired with a new-generation eAxle and an integrated Power Control Unit (PCU). The setup also uses a newly developed lithium-ion battery designed to be lighter and more compact while delivering improved efficiency, refinement and performance. Lexus says the new hybrid system offers a better balance of power, fuel economy and cabin quietness.
The sedan also introduces several new technologies, including the world's first Responsive Hidden Switches, which remain concealed within the dashboard until required, creating a cleaner cabin layout.
On the safety front, the ES 350h is equipped with the latest Lexus Safety System+, featuring an enhanced Pre-Collision System, All-Speed Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, Lane Tracing Assist and a Driver Monitor on the Luxury variant.
Lexus has also expanded the connected car package. Through the Lexus Connected app, owners can remotely start the engine, lock or unlock doors, monitor fuel level and driving range, operate the windows and sunroof, pre-condition the cabin, track the vehicle in real time and access emergency assistance.
The new ES 350h comes with an 8-year/2,00,000km warranty on the vehicle and hybrid battery, a 5-year roadside assistance package, Lexus Luxury Care service packages and an Assured Buy Back programme.
