Delhi Traffic Police has launched an upgraded website for challan checks, payments and towed vehicle tracking. The platform aims to make traffic services faster, clearer and more accessible for citizens.

Citizens in Delhi can now locate their towed vehicles online, check traffic challans issued against their vehicles and pay the dues through a QR code on the upgraded Delhi Traffic Police website launched on Thursday. The platform also provides road congestion updates and route information, and can be accessed on mobile phones, tablets and other devices.

Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu launched the revamped website, which has been designed as a more interactive and user-friendly platform for traffic-related information and services. Officials said the website has enhanced cyber security measures and has been developed as a future-ready system that can add more citizen-focused services over time.

Users can enter their vehicle registration number on the website to check challans issued against their vehicles. They can also make payments against the challans through a QR code available on the platform. A key feature of the upgraded website is that it allows people to locate vehicles that have been towed and find the concerned towing location online, reducing the need to make multiple enquiries with the traffic police.

The website also gives information on road congestion and helps users identify the best routes for their journeys. It includes an interactive feature explaining the meaning of various road signs and road markings, aimed at helping commuters understand traffic rules and comply with them.

Speaking at the launch, Sandhu said the platform should go beyond being an administrative interface and develop into an interactive hub for road safety awareness, civic education and proactive citizen participation. He also stressed the importance of using technology to make public services more accessible, efficient and responsive to citizens' needs. Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar, Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ajay Chowdhary, Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Additional Commissioners of Police (Traffic) and Deputy Commissioners of Police were present at the launch.

The upgraded website is part of the Delhi Traffic Police's efforts to use technology to simplify everyday interactions between citizens and traffic authorities, while bringing together services such as challan checks, online payments, towed vehicle tracking and traffic updates on a single platform.
