Google has launched the Pixel 11 Pro, its flagship phone for 2026-27. The flagship arrives packing the company's latest Tensor G6 chipset, a high-end display, and an advanced camera setup, with Google leaning harder into AI than ever before.

The Pixel 11 Pro looks good on paper, but you must be wondering how it compares to Apple’s iPhone 17 Pro. The iPhone 17 Pro has been ruling the flagship space for about a year now, and it is giving the Pixel 11 Pro tough competition already ahead of iPhone 18 Pro launch which is expected in a few weeks from now.

Here's how the Google Pixel 11 Pro stacks up against the iPhone 17 Pro.

Design

The Pixel 11 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro look quite different, even though both follow the now-familiar premium smartphone formula.

Google continues with its horizontal camera bar, while Apple uses a large rear camera module and its recognisable flat-edge frame. The Pixel 11 Pro measures 152.7 x 71.9 x 8.4mm and weighs 204g. The iPhone 17 Pro is slightly smaller in height, but thicker and heavier at 150 x 71.9 x 8.8mm and 206g.

Google offers the Pixel 11 Pro in Canyon, Olive, Fog and Obsidian colours. The iPhone 17 Pro comes in Silver, Cosmic Orange and Deep Blue.

Both phones carry IP68 protection, although their materials differ. The Pixel gets a Gorilla Glass Victus 2 back, while the iPhone 17 Pro uses Ceramic Shield 2 on the front.

Display

This is one area where both phones are firmly in flagship territory.

The Pixel 11 Pro gets a 6.3-inch Super Actua LTPO OLED panel with a 1280 x 2856-pixel resolution. Its refresh rate can drop to 1Hz and go up to 120Hz depending on what is happening on the screen. Peak brightness is rated at 3,600 nits.

The iPhone 17 Pro also has a 6.3-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. It supports HDR10 and Dolby Vision and reaches up to 3,000 nits at peak brightness.

On paper, the Pixel 11 Pro has the edge in peak brightness and resolution, while the iPhone brings Apple's display technologies and media-focused features.

Performance and AI

The biggest difference between the two phones could be what they do beyond raw processing.

The Pixel 11 Pro is powered by Google's Tensor G6, with Google focusing heavily on on-device AI and Gemini-powered features. The phone starts with 12GB RAM on the 256GB model, while the 512GB version gets 16GB RAM.

The iPhone 17 Pro uses Apple's A19 Pro chip, built on a 3nm process, and comes with 12GB RAM across its 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants.

Google's approach is more AI-centric, with features designed to automate tasks and make everyday interactions more contextual. Apple's A19 Pro, meanwhile, is built around high-end performance and graphics, while also powering Apple's own AI features.

Cameras

The camera battle is particularly interesting because both phones take a very different route.

The Pixel 11 Pro has a 50-megapixel main camera, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide with Macro Focus and a 48-megapixel 5x telephoto camera with OIS. It also gets a 42-megapixel autofocus selfie camera.

The iPhone 17 Pro goes for a triple 48-megapixel setup. It includes a 48-megapixel main camera with sensor-shift OIS, a 48-megapixel ultra-wide and a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with 4x optical zoom and 3D sensor-shift OIS.

Where Apple pulls ahead is video. The iPhone 17 Pro supports 4K recording at up to 120fps and includes advanced formats and tools such as ProRes RAW, Apple Log 2 and Dolby Vision HDR.

So, for still photography, the Pixel 11 Pro's computational approach is likely to appeal to users who want Google's signature processing and zoom capabilities. For serious video work, the iPhone 17 Pro has a stronger specification sheet.

Battery and charging

The Pixel 11 Pro packs a 4,850mAh battery, with Google claiming more than 30 hours of usage.

Apple does not publish the battery capacity in the same way, but the iPhone 17 Pro supports 50 per cent charging in around 20 minutes with a compatible charger.

The Pixel supports up to 30W wired charging and Qi2.2 wireless charging up to 25W. The iPhone 17 Pro supports up to 25W MagSafe and Qi2 charging, along with reverse wired charging.

Price in India

The Pixel 11 Pro starts at Rs 1,19,999 in India, with Google offering launch benefits such as up to Rs 10,000 instant cashback and up to Rs 9,000 exchange bonus.

The iPhone 17 Pro starts at Rs 1,34,900 for the 256GB model and is available in storage options going up to 1TB.

The Pixel 11 Pro is the more affordable choice and makes a strong case for buyers who prioritise Google's AI features, a bright display and computational photography. The iPhone 17 Pro costs more, but brings Apple's A19 Pro chip, stronger video tools and a deeper Pro ecosystem for users already invested in Apple's hardware.
