Sarvam has a new plan to boost engagement, says it will give creators early access to AI models

Homegrown AI startup Sarvam has announced a new programme for creators and community builders. Called Sarvam Champions, this programme gives you early access to new Sarvam AI models and to the team behind them. Here are all the details.

Indian AI startup Sarvam wants to expand its community of builders. To do this, the startup has announced Sarvam Champions, a new programme for creators and community leaders. This programme focuses on getting more people to use Sarvam’s tools and grow the startup’s community.

In a post on X, Sarvam stated that the Champions programme comprised two parts. Creators, who build projects with Sarvam, and city leads who can organise local events for the builder community in any city.

The launch of Sarvam Champions comes just a month after Epoch 2026, the AI conference by the homegrown startup where it made some big announcements. Sarvam launched new models including Vision 2.0 and Bulbul V4. The company also revealed that it was working on a trillion-plus parameter flagship model.

What is Sarvam Champions?

Under Sarvam Champions, creators and city leads will get early access to Sarvam’s latest models and get to interact with the startup’s key teams. They will also be part of a Champions community to meet and share ideas with other builders.

As we mentioned previously, the Champions programme has two parts – creators and city leads. Sarvam says that those who want to be creators should already be building with its tools and sharing what they make.

The role of a Champion creator includes creating hands-on guides such as tutorials, cookbooks, live-coding sessions and build-alongs, sharing real builds made with Sarvam, and giving feedback to the company to help improve its products.

The second track is for city leads, whom Sarvam described as leaders who bring builders together. These participants should already be running a local developer community. City leads are expected to organise events such as meet-ups and workshops where they can help people use Sarvam’s tools. Sarvam says that it would fund approved events, provide playbooks and content to help run them, and support efforts to grow the community.

City leads are expected to run one Sarvam event each month. The funding for events covers expenses such as catering, venue fees, standees and banners. Though it does not include prize money.

How to apply for Sarvam Champions?

The selection process for Sarvam Champions has four steps. Applicants can either apply themselves or be nominated by someone else. You can apply to join the programme via the Sarvam website.

As part of the application, creators need to share technical content or a real build, while city leads should share an event or community they run. You can share details regarding your qualifications, experience, and social media links as well.

Sarvam is currently raising funds as part of a Series B funding round. IndiGo Ventures is one of the latest investors into the AI startup. Sarvam already has the backing of companies like HCLTech and Nvidia. The startup is valued at $1.5 billion, making it India’s first AI unicorn.
