Notably, this would be the Chinese brand’s first Turbo-series smartphone to make its way in the country.
Although the brand has yet to officially announce the launch date of the device, tipster Sanju Choudhary on X shared an official teaser of the smartphone and confirmed it could launch on June 16. Since a “coming soon” teaser is already live on Amazon, we can say for sure that the Redmi Turbo 5 is going to go on sale on the e-commerce platform.
What we can expect from Redmi Turbo 5
Since the smartphone is already available in China, speculations suggest the Redmi Turbo 5 will launch with similar specs as the Chinese variant. So, we can guess that the Redmi Turbo 5 could feature a 6.59-inch 1.5K flat OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3,500 nits peak brightness. The panel supports a 1268 x 2756-pixel resolution and 3840Hz PWM dimming for improved eye comfort.
Under the hood, the smartphone may feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset, paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It may run on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16 and offers up to 16GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
In terms of battery, the Redmi Turbo 5 could carry a 7,560mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging.
For photography, the device is likely to ship with a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera. On the front, it could house a 20-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. The device can record videos in up to 4K resolution at 60fps and also supports HDR10+.
Other expected features include stereo speakers with Hi-Res Audio support and an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. The device could be rated IP68 and IP69K for dust and water resistance, offering enhanced durability. Design-wise, it is likely to have an aluminium frame with a weight of around 204 grams. In China, the smartphone is offered in Black, White and Mint colour options.
