Sony has launched a new pair of earbuds in India called the LinkBuds Clip, and these are a little different from the usual in-ear options. Instead of sitting inside the ear canal, the LinkBuds Clip earphones rest on the outer ear, leaving the ears open so users can hear both their audio and the world around them at the same time. They are built for people who want to listen to music or take calls throughout the day without completely blocking out their surroundings.

The earbuds come with three listening modes that users can switch between with a double tap. Standard mode is for everyday listening, Voice Boost increases volume and speech clarity for podcasts and calls in noisy places, and Sound Leakage Reduction cuts down on high-frequency sound escaping the earbuds, which is useful in quieter shared spaces like offices or public transport. Sony has also included its Digital Sound Enhancement Engine, which recovers high-frequency details lost during audio compression to make the sound feel closer to the original recording.

For calls, the LinkBuds Clip use dual microphones, a bone conduction sensor, and an AI-based noise reduction system to isolate the user's voice and filter out background noise. The bone conduction sensor picks up voice vibrations directly, which helps keep calls clear even in noisy environments.

Battery life is rated at up to 37 hours in total, with 9 hours in the earbuds and 28 more in the charging case. A quick 3-minute charge gives an additional hour of playback. The earbuds carry an IPX4 rating, meaning they can handle sweat and light splashes. They also support single-earbud use, Fast Pair for Android devices, and Swift Pair for Windows laptops and desktops. Users can tune the sound using a 10-band equaliser through the Sony Sound Connect app, and the earbuds work with Google Gemini for hands-free assistance.
