Bharat Mobility Expo 2025: VinFast to showcase VF7, VF9, other models

VinFast will showcase its range of electric vehicles such as VF7 and VF9 electric SUVs, alongside other models such as the compact mini-SUV VF 3, electric scooters, and the VF Wild electric pickup concept.

Vietnamese electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer VinFast is set to make its entry into the Indian market as it gears up to showcase its electric vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. The expo is scheduled from January 17 to 22 in New Delhi.

At the expo, VinFast will showcase a diverse lineup of electric vehicles, including the compact mini-SUV VF3 and the three-row SUV VF9, alongside a range of SUVs catering to various consumer segments. The display will also feature VinFast’s electric scooters, targeting India’s massive two-wheeler market, and the VF Wild, an electric pickup concept.

In 2024, VinFast began the construction of EV assembly facility in Thoothukudi, Tamil Nadu to localise production.

VinFast VF7

The VinFast VF7 is a 5-seater all-electric SUV that boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 4,545 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,635.75 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm. Internationally, the VF7 is offered in two trims: Eco and Plus, both powered by a 75.3 kWh battery pack.

The Eco trim features a single-motor, front-wheel-drive configuration, producing 201 bhp. This variant delivers a range of up to 450 km on a single charge.

The Plus trim, on the other hand, comes with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup, producing 348 bhp. It offers a range of 431 km on a full charge.

In terms of technology, the VF7 comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system. 12.9-inches in the Eco trim and 15-inches in the Plus trim, with support for OTA updates. Both trims include Level 2 ADAS with lane centring assist, adaptive cruise control and emergency lane keep assist.

VinFast VF9

The VF9 serves as VinFast’s flagship electric SUV, available in 6-seater and 7-seater configurations, with the 6-seater option featuring captain seats. Measuring 5,119 mm in length, 2,253 mm in width, and 1,691 mm in height, the VF9 has wheelbase of 3,146 mm. Like the VF7, it is offered in two trims internationally: Eco and Plus.

Both trims are powered by a 123 kWh battery pack paired with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system, delivering 402 bhp.

The Eco trim claims a range of 531 km, while the Plus trim offers 468 km on a single charge. The VF9 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds (Eco) and 6.7 seconds (Plus), with a top speed of 200 km/h.

Feature highlights of the VF9 include LED headlights and taillights, auto-adjustable and heated ORVMs, ventilated and heated front and rear seats with massage functions, a three-zone climate control system, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof and a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Additionally, the VF9 is equipped with 11 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, and a full suite of Level 2 ADAS features.
