Speculations about the OnePlus Turbo 6X are in the air. It could launch by the end of this month as the latest variant in the brand’s Turbo lineup. OnePlus kicked off this year with the launch of the OnePlus Turbo 6 and Turbo 6V in China. Neither of these phones with the same name reached India. And the case of the Turbo 6X's launch status in India remained unclear.
OnePlus China President Li Jie has confirmed the Turbo 6X's launch timeline. Responding to a user comment on Weibo, the executive revealed that the handset will debut in China before June 18 — leaving just a few days to go.
OnePlus Turbo 6X expected specs
Tipster Experience More took to Weibo and posted the OnePlus Turbo 6X will ship with a 6.72-inch full-HD+ LCD screen with a 144Hz refresh rate.
While the standard Turbo 6 features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset, the OnePlus Turbo 6X could come with a MediaTek Dimensity 7300 processor.
On the camera front, the OnePlus Turbo 6X is expected to sport a dual rear setup — a 50-megapixel primary shooter built on the OV50D sensor, paired with a 2-megapixel secondary camera. Up front, an 8-megapixel camera is anticipated to handle selfies and video calls.
The OnePlus Turbo 6X is expected to pack a 7,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging — a step down from the standard Turbo 6, which houses a larger 9,000mAh cell. The purported smartphone could feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a plastic frame, and an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance. Dimensionally, it may measure 165.85 x 75.85 x 8.55mm and weigh around 208g.
The higher-end Turbo 6X Pro, meanwhile, is rumoured to step things up with an LTPS OLED display at 1.5K resolution, a larger 8,000mAh battery, and a more robust IP69-rated build. Both the Turbo 6X and Turbo 6X Pro are tipped to target the CNY 1,000 bracket in China — roughly Rs 14,000.
On the pricing front, the standard OnePlus Turbo 6 launched in China starting at CNY 2,099 (roughly Rs 27,000). The Turbo 6X, being a step-down variant, is expected to come in at a lower price point. However, the ongoing global chip shortage adds some uncertainty to any firm forecast.
