Google brings Fitbit Air to India: Price, availability, features and everything to know

Google has launched the Fitbit Air in India for Rs 13,999. The screenless fitness tracker offers health and sleep tracking, up to seven days of battery life and AI-powered coaching.

Google has finally brought its much-hyped Fitbit Air to India. The screenless fitness tracker will go on sale from October 2 at a starting price of Rs 13,999. According to Google, the Fitbit Air is designed for users who want to track their health and fitness without the distractions of a smartwatch screen or constant notifications.

Google says the Fitbit Air is its smallest and lightest fitness tracker yet. Unlike a smartwatch, it has no screen, so you won't have to deal with constant notifications. Instead, it tracks your health throughout the day and night, sending the data to the Google Health app on your smartphone.

In India Google has launched its Fitbit Air at a price tag of Rs 13,999. The wearable will be available from October 2 in four colour options: Obsidian, Berry, Lavender and Fog.

Every purchase of Fitbit Air also includes a three-month trial of Google Health Premium, which provides access to Google Health Coach and its personalised wellness features.

As part of the launch offers, buyers can get Rs 1,000 cashback on full-swipe transactions. There is also an option to get Rs 1,000 cashback with a six-month no-cost EMI on select HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank cards. Buyers can also opt for no-cost EMI for up to 12 months on consumer loans.

The Fitbit Air will be available through the Google Store, Flipkart, Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales and other retail partners across India.

Google Fitbit Air: Features and health tracking

The Fitbit Air offers several health-tracking features, including 24/7 heart rate monitoring, resting heart rate tracking and heart rate variability (HRV) measurements. It also supports irregular heart rhythm notifications for atrial fibrillation (AFib) and blood oxygen (SpO2) tracking.

For sleep tracking, the wearable monitors sleep stages and duration. It also offers automatic activity detection, allowing users to track common activities without having to manually start every workout. Users can also log their workouts through the companion app.

The tracker works with Google Health Coach, which uses sensor data to provide personalised guidance and help users build healthier habits. Users can follow guided workout sessions, log exercises automatically or take a photo of gym equipment and workout routines to record their activities.

Google Fitbit Air: Battery life and design

Google claims the Fitbit Air offers up to seven days of battery life on a single charge. Its fast-charging feature can provide up to a full day of battery life with just five minutes of charging.

The screenless design is intended to make the tracker comfortable for overnight wear, particularly for users who want to monitor their sleep without wearing a smartwatch to bed.

The Fitbit Air features an interchangeable pebble design with multiple band options. The Performance Loop Band, included in the box, is made from recycled materials and is designed to be lightweight and breathable. Users can also purchase the Active Band, made from sweatproof silicone for high-intensity workouts, and the Elevated Modern Band, designed for everyday wear.
