IIT Madras to offer AI, law and other certificate courses to Jamia school students
Jamia Senior Secondary School has joined IIT Madras School Connect, offering Classes 9 to 12 students eight-week online certificate courses in technology, science, humanities and management. The programme will help students explore interests, make career choices and earn IIT Madras e-certificates.

Jamia Senior Secondary School, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI), has partnered with IIT Madras School Connect to offer Classes 9 to 12 students online certificate courses in academic and emerging fields. The eight-week online courses are designed to help students explore their academic interests, understand different career options and make more informed decisions about their future studies.
Under the programme, students can enrol in courses covering Mathematics and Science, Engineering, Computing, Humanities and Management. The course offerings include Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Economics and Finance, Law, Digital Humanities, Ecology and Forensic Sciences.
Students can also explore specialised areas such as Electronic Systems, Architecture and Design, Product Design, Biological Systems, Chemical Engineering, Aerospace and game technology, along with mathematics and computing-related courses.
PROGRAMME TO SUPPORT SUBJECT AND CAREER CHOICES
For students in Classes 9 and 10, the courses are intended to help them identify their areas of interest before selecting Science, Commerce or Humanities in Class 11.
Students in Classes 11 and 12 can use the programme to gain exposure to different fields before choosing undergraduate programmes and deciding on their career paths.
The initiative is being implemented with the support of JMI Vice-Chancellor Prof Mazhar Asif and Registrar Prof Md Mahtab Alam Rizvi. At the school level, Principal Dr Mohd Arshad Khan is leading the initiative, while PGT Computer Science Ms Wasiya Siddiqui has been nominated as the school's Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for programme-related coordination.
IIT MADRAS E-CERTIFICATES AFTER COURSE COMPLETION
Students who successfully complete the prescribed requirements, including assignments and examinations, will receive e-certificates from the Centre for Outreach and Digital Education (CODE), IIT Madras.
The collaboration is expected to give school students early exposure to emerging academic disciplines and help them make more informed choices about higher education and careers.
