In other words, Xiaomi wants to sell you a high-performance Redmi smartphone, again. The Redmi Turbo 5, which is launching in India on June 16, is all about fast performance.

The Redmi Turbo 5 is part of a new line-up from Xiaomi that will sit below its flagship devices. Specifically for Redmi, this will be the most powerful phone from under its value-oriented Redmi line-up. It is what Poco has been doing for a while now, but now, even Redmi wants to get into it, which only means one thing – more options for buyers.

India Today Tech got an early hands-on with the phone in question and here we will tell you, what we think about it based on our limited test run.

The Redmi Turbo 5 comes with two circular camera cutouts on the back along with an aluminium frame. The back is made of reinforced glass. The Redmi logo sits prominently on the bottom left, and you get some outlines around the camera and the flash that adds to the design.

But what might catch your eye are the RGB lights. The Redmi Turbo 5 has two RGB light rings that surround one of each rear camera.

Xiaomi says that the Redmi Turbo 5 display can show up to 68 billion colours.

When you flip over to the front, you get a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The bezels look minimal, and you also get Dolby Vision support. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.
