Maruti Suzuki posts record domestic sales in July, total dispatches cross 2.41 lakh units

Maruti Suzuki recorded its highest-ever domestic sales in July 2026, with total dispatches crossing 2.41 lakh units, driven by strong demand for passenger vehicles despite a marginal decline in exports.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) reported total sales of 2,41,421 units in July 2026, driven by record domestic volumes despite a marginal decline in exports. The country's largest carmaker achieved its highest-ever domestic sales of 2,00,123 units, while exports stood at 30,056 units, taking overall dispatches to over 2.41 lakh units for the month.

Domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales reached 1,96,203 units, up sharply from 1,37,776 units in July 2025. Including the Super Carry light commercial vehicle, total domestic sales climbed to 2,00,123 units, compared to 1,40,570 units in the corresponding month last year. Sales to other OEMs also increased to 11,242 units, taking total domestic dispatches, including OEM supplies, to 2,11,365 units.

Among individual segments, the Compact and Mid-Size portfolio comprising the Baleno, Celerio, Ciaz, Dzire, Ignis, Swift and WagonR remained the company's biggest contributor, recording sales of 90,822 units in July 2026 compared to 65,840 units in July 2025.

The Mini segment, which includes the Alto and S-Presso, registered sales of 12,634 units, up from 6,822 units during the same month last year. Total passenger car sales across the Mini and Compact/Mid-Size categories stood at 1,03,456 units, compared to 72,662 units in July 2025.

Maruti Suzuki's Utility Vehicle lineup, comprising the Brezza, Ertiga, e Vitara, Fronx, Grand Vitara, Invicto, Jimny, Victoris and XL6, continued its strong momentum with sales of 78,851 units, significantly higher than the 52,773 units recorded in July last year.

The Eeco van contributed 13,896 units, while the Super Carry light commercial vehicle recorded sales of 3,920 units, both posting year-on-year gains over July 2025.

Exports, however, witnessed a slight decline during the month. Maruti Suzuki shipped 30,056 units overseas in July 2026, compared to 31,745 units exported in July 2025. Despite this, the company's overall monthly sales rose to 2,41,421 units, up from 1,80,526 units a year earlier.

The automaker also maintained strong momentum during the first four months of FY2026-27. Between April and July 2026, total sales stood at 9,24,145 units, compared to 7,08,387 units during the corresponding period of the previous financial year. Domestic passenger vehicle sales reached 7,21,431 units, while total domestic sales, including LCVs and OEM supplies, stood at 7,69,353 units. Exports for the period increased to 1,54,792 units from 1,28,717 units a year earlier.
