Nothing is set to bring a new audio product to the Indian market. It will have an open ear design, and it will sport Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), as per reports. Which means, with those specifications, it will compete with the new AirPods 4, which is the only other earbud in the market that sports an open ear design with ANC. The Nothing earbuds will also reportedly have a very fitting name; they will apparently be called the Nothing Ear Open. The launch will take place tomorrow, September 24.

Nothing has so far launched four earbuds in the Indian market: the Nothing Ear 1, Nothing Ear 2, Nothing Ear Stick, and the Nothing Ear a. Looking at the open ear design, the Nothing Ear Open will likely succeed the Nothing Ear Stick, which is the only other earbuds by the company with an open ear design. The Nothing Ear 1, Ear 2, and Ear a, all sport an ear tip design.

The expected competitor of the Nothing Ear Open, the AirPods 4, was recently launched at the iPhone hardware event on September 9.

The AirPods 4 comes with an open-ear design, offering enhanced audio quality through a low-distortion driver and a high dynamic range amplifier. They also feature Personalised Spatial Audio with dynamic head tracking, creating an immersive 3D audio experience for music, movies, and gaming. For gamers, these earbuds deliver low-latency audio and support 16-bit, 48kHz sound. A new force sensor on the stem allows for easy media and call control with a simple press.

For the first time, the AirPods 4 introduced ANC in an open-ear model. Equipped with upgraded microphones and the H2 chip, the ANC effectively filters out background noise. It also integrates with Adaptive Audio, combining noise cancellation and transparency mode to adapt to the surrounding environment. The Conversation Awareness feature automatically lowers the volume when the user starts speaking, enabling smoother interactions.

With up to 30 hours of battery life when used with the charging case, the AirPods 4 offer flexible charging options, including USB-C, Apple Watch chargers, and Qi wireless chargers. The standard model is priced at Rs 10,900, while the ANC version is available for Rs 14,900.
