  • Details about the Vivo X500 leaked
  • The Vivo X500 is tipped to feature a 6.59-inch display
  • It may carry a 50-megapixel primary camera

Change takes time, but in the digital world, it is occurring on steroids. Vivo recently rolled out its flagship smartphone, Vivo X300 Ultra, the first smartphone in the world to carry double 200-megapixel cameras. The smartphone became a major talking point for its external telephoto extenders and excellence in photography. The dust of excitement had barely settled, rumours about Vivo's next flagship began surfacing online.

Earlier, Vivo’s flagships reportedly showed up in the GSM Association’s IMEI database, hinting that the upcoming series could consist of three devices: the X500, X500 Pro, and a new X500e. Yes, it may not be called X400. This could perhaps be linked to tetraphobia, the fear and avoidance of the number 4, a practice commonly observed among Chinese brands.

Vivo X500 expected specifications and features

Recelty tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) on Weibo revealed details about a device which is believed to be the Vivo X500. The device is tipped to ship with a 6.59-inch flat display. For photography, the smartphone could carry a 50-megapixel primary camera with a 1/1.28-inch sensor and a periscope telephoto lens. In terms of processors, the Vivo X500 could be powered by Dimensity 9500.

To keep the lights on, the Vivo X500 could pack a 7,500mAh battery. If the rumour turns out to be true, then the X500 would come with a notable upgrade over the X300’s 6,040 mAh battery.

What we come to know about the other variants in the lineup

The Vivo X500 Pro is expected to feature a large 6.8- to 6.9-inch 2K LTPO OLED display with support for a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The smartphone is also tipped to come with a 3D ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication.

Under the hood, the device is rumoured to be powered by MediaTek's next-generation Dimensity 9600 chipset, which is expected to be built on a 2nm process. The new chip is likely to focus on improved power efficiency, sustained performance, and enhanced AI capabilities.

On the camera front, Vivo is reportedly testing a new 50-megapixel LOFIC sensor designed to improve dynamic range and deliver better results in challenging lighting conditions. The X500 Pro could also feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, offering enhanced zoom performance.

Battery life is expected to be another major highlight. The smartphone is tipped to pack a battery larger than 7,000mAh and support 100W fast charging, which would mark a notable upgrade over its predecessor.

As for the Vivo X500e, very little is known at this stage. The smartphone is expected to join the X500 series as a more affordable offering, although its specifications remain under wraps. Depending on Vivo's final positioning, the X500e could target users looking for a flagship-like experience at a relatively lower price point. More details are expected to emerge closer to the official launch.
