A car bearing a police sticker stopped on a Delhi-Dehradun Economic Corridor stretch in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat, but what happened next was anything but routine.

A man stepped out, uprooted a roadside plant and casually drove away with it.

The incident took place on the stretch between Tatiri town and Baraut, where CCTV footage captured the white car pulling over on the expressway.

The footage showed a man getting out of the vehicle and walking towards a plant growing along the roadside. He then bent down, pulled it out of the ground and carried the uprooted plant back to the car.

Without appearing to be in any hurry, the man placed it inside the car and drove away. The entire act was carried out so casually that it looked less like a theft and more like someone stopping to pick up an ordinary item.

The incident has also brought back memories of a similar flowerpot theft in Lucknow last year. In that case, people travelling in a car were caught on camera taking a roadside flowerpot with them.
