A bizarre crash in Canada has left the internet stunned after a motorcycle ended up hanging several feet above the ground from a traffic signal pole following a collision at an intersection.

The accident took place near the Surrey–Delta border in British Columbia on Saturday afternoon. According to reports and footage circulating online, the motorcycle collided with the front of a silver BMW sedan at the intersection with such force that the bike was launched into the air before getting lodged high up on the traffic signal structure.

Images from the scene quickly went viral because of how surreal the aftermath looked. Instead of lying damaged on the road, the motorcycle could be seen dangling awkwardly from the pole above the intersection, leaving many online users wondering how the crash could have generated enough impact to send the vehicle airborne.

Videos from the site also showed the badly damaged BMW parked below while emergency responders worked around the area.

One eyewitness described the moment with disbelief. “I was looking down and then I looked up and the motorcycle was above. Kind of crazy,” the observer said, adding that he initially saw the damaged car but could not immediately figure out where the second vehicle involved in the crash had gone.

Police later confirmed that the motorcyclist suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the BMW was reportedly unharmed.

As the video went viral, users reacted with shock at the unusual accident scene. Many compared it to something out of an action film or a physics-defying stunt sequence. Others simply expressed relief that the rider survived despite the intensity of the impact.
