AI DISRUPTION FEARS EASE
For much of the past year, Indian IT stocks have faced pressure from the rapid development of generative AI and newer AI tools. Investors have worried that companies could automate coding, testing and other technology services, reducing the need for traditional IT outsourcing.
That concern has been reflected in the sector's weak performance and valuation pressure.
The latest shift in sentiment comes from calls for a slowdown in AI development. For Indian IT companies, this can be seen as a near-term positive because it reduces fears of a sudden disruption to their traditional business models.
Indian IT firms are increasingly using AI in their own services, but their core businesses remain linked to large technology outsourcing and enterprise services contracts.
A slower pace of AI disruption gives these companies more time to integrate AI into their offerings, shift towards higher-value services and manage the transition without a sharp impact on existing revenue streams.
In other words, the market is treating a slower AI disruption cycle as a potential breather for traditional IT companies.
IT STOCKS REBOUND SHARPLY

The Nifty IT index was up 4.79%, making it the best-performing major sectoral index in early trade.
The IT rally also helped the benchmark indices open in the green despite continued concerns around crude oil prices and global interest rates.
