Mercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition arrives in India at Rs 1.52 crore, packing sharper dynamics, AMG Dynamic Plus upgrades, styling tweaks and the same potent 435bhp turbo-petrol powertrain.
by Saumya Shubham Jha · India TodayMercedes-AMG GLE 53 Coupe Performance Edition has been launched in India at an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.52 crore, bringing a sharper, more driver-focused edge to the already potent AMG GLE Coupe lineup. The standout addition in this iteration is the inclusion of the AMG Dynamic Plus Package as standard, enhancing both performance and visual appeal.
At the heart of the update is AMG’s focus on improving driving dynamics. The package introduces active roll stabilisation through AMG Active Ride Control, which significantly boosts agility and reduces body roll, especially during spirited driving. Complementing this is the AMG high-performance composite braking system, featuring internally ventilated and perforated discs, paired with distinctive red brake callipers that underscore its performance intent.
Further elevating the driving experience is the AMG Performance steering wheel, wrapped in Nappa leather and equipped with integrated controls, allowing drivers to access key functions without distraction. The SUV also benefits from AMG Track Pace, a fully integrated telemetry system within the MBUX interface that records lap times, acceleration, steering inputs and braking data, enabling drivers to analyse and refine their performance.
Visually, the Performance Edition stands apart with 22-inch AMG cross-spoke alloy wheels finished in matt black with a high-sheen rim flange. These not only enhance its road presence but also contribute to improved cornering stability and high-speed confidence. Additional exterior highlights include a prominent AMG grille with vertical chrome slats, LED headlamps with DRLs, and a sporty rear profile featuring wraparound LED taillights, a subtle spoiler and dual exhaust outlets.
Inside, the cabin retains its premium appeal with dual 12.3-inch displays for infotainment and instrumentation, a head-up display, panoramic sunroof, and a Burmester 13-speaker sound system. Comfort features include ventilated, heated and memory-enabled front seats, wireless charging and four-zone climate control.
Powering the SUV is the familiar 3.0-litre inline-six turbo-petrol engine, producing 435bhp and 520Nm of torque. Paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, the Performance Edition accelerates from 0 to 100kmph in 5.3 seconds, with the top speed electronically limited to 250kmph.
